AVVISO PUBBLICO PER IL SOSTEGNO ALLE MPMI CAMPANE NELLA REALIZZAZIONE DI PROGETTI DI SVILUPPO SPERIMENTALE, TRASFERIMENTO TECNOLOGICO E INDUSTRIALIZZAZIONE  

Project carried out in collaboration with the partner Techno-Rail s.r.l. with the co-financing of the European Union, the Italian State and Campania Region, as part of the POR CAMPANIA FESR 2014 – 2023 Priority Axis 3 - Competitiveness of the production system.

The objective of the project is to support the maintenance process of the railway/subway/tramway infrastructure managers through the creation of a Measurement and Monitoring Platform of the state of the Contact Line, which is the part of the railway infrastructure dedicated to transmission of electricity from the generation points to vehicles (trains, subways, trams, work vehicles, etc.) that travel along the underlying railway line. By means of the pantograph, the locomotive draws the energy necessary for the movement of the vehicle from the conductor which forms the contact line; the efficiency and correct functioning of the energy capture process is linked to the maintenance over time of the geometric characteristics and residual thickness of the conductor.

SINTONIA Project envisages the creation of an instrument for measuring the geometric parameters and the residual thickness of the Contact Line and a software platform for the collection, processing and presentation of the collected data which, by defining appropriate algorithms and exploiting the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence and data mining, make it possible to determine "dynamically" and "proactively" the maintenance interventions by the manager of the railway infrastructure.

This type of approach also aims to obtain significant reductions in the consumption of energy resources, both in terms of human resources and materials and means to be used, facilitating maintenance operations and scheduling them only in cases of real need.

As part of the project, T&T has realized the measuring instrument by bringing the existing prototype to a TRL 9 level, designing it so that it can be integrated into the different types of rolling stock that travel along the railway/subway/tramway lines.
